Size is 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 inches.
War Department notification to AEF American Expeditionary Force, dated 30 April 1918. Rank chevron are only to be worn on right sleeve. So......... in World War 1 "Officially" only a SINGLE chevron was worn on the RIGHT side only. This was done to save material for the war and make it easier for supply.
