REPRODUCTION World War II U.S. M. C. Corpsman Ratings

These are outstanding reproductions of the sage green on red wool ratings worn on the green wool winter service uniform and overcoat. They are of three-piece construction, made to the original Marine Corps specification.  Marine Corps corpsman were Navy Pharmacist's Mates who had received combat training in Marine Boot Camp. They wore standard Marine Corps uniform with the Globe & Anchor insignia, but held Navy ranks and wore Navy style rank insignia.

One of raisers of the American flag on Iwo Jima was a Pharmacist's Mate 2nd Class.
